Owner Julie Yamane began training in 4-H when she was 12, way back when in 1967. Her dog Caesar was a poodle/terrier mix adopted from the Denver Dumb Friends League. After he bit several neighbor children mom said “train him or get rid of him” and Julie never looked back. Mom probably regretted saying that, as two Golden Retrievers joined the family so that Julie could compete in AKC events.
During college, Julie added a Pembroke Welsh Corgi to the family and has had at least one ever since. These were sfollowed by two Belgian Tervuren and a rescue Sheltie. Currently she is owned by two Pyrenean Shepherds and one corgi and competes in rally obedience, formal obedience, tracking, herding, agility, and barn hunt, as well as being a Tester/Observer for a national therapy dog organization.
Besides training and competing with her own dogs, Julie thoroughly enjoys teaching classes and meeting so many beautiful dogs and their owners, both in daycare and classes.
Julie Is an AKC Rally Obedience Judge and member in good standing in the following organizations:
The Association of Pet Dog Trainers
National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors
The Alliance of Therapy Dogs
Long’s Peak Dog Training Club
Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of the Rockies Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America
